PRAY

Whether on the trail or at home, you may find these prayers helpful.

For adults and youth

Dear Father,
We are amazed and overwhelmed at what you have done for us.
We can hardly bare to think of the sin and wrongdoing in this world,
and the part we have played in this,
for this we are truly sorry.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for becoming the atoning sacrifice for us, for knowingly and willingly going to the cross and dying for us, the most brutal and appalling death.

Dear Jesus,
you knew what you were doing,
you love us with a love that is indescribable,
and this was what enabled you to do what you did for us,
you died on that cross and then rose again on the third day so that we could be forgiven and set free.

I ask you to forgive me.
I commit myself to you now and
I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit
so that I can share your amazing, incredible love with those around me so that they in turn might also discover how much you love them and be in relationship with you.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen

For children

God made you and God made me, He made the world for us to see. God loves you and long ago, He sent his Son to tell us so.Jesus showed us many things, To love and share and dance and sing. To learn and pray, to help and care, He promised he’d always be there. He died but then came back to life, Let’s celebrate for he’s alive!Amen.
